Description:  Master Dollmaker, Thelma Heard, will instruct participants of this interactive workshop in the creation of their own one-of-a-kind dolls from found objects and materials such as fabric swatches, beads, shells, lace, and trim. All materials will be provided. A number of the dolls that Ms. Heard has made will also be on display, as she shares the importance of this folk art tradition with the public. The workshop is appropriate for adults and young people ages 12 and up. Multicultural Dollmaking is offered free of charge, however registration is required. It will take place on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 1 pm.
